Electronic Scrap
Electronic scrap is end of life and surplus electrical and electronic equipment, together with the boards, components and fractions recovered from dismantling it. The stream carries copper, aluminium, steel, tin, nickel and the precious metals gold, silver, palladium and platinum in the connectors, plated surfaces and integrated circuits, alongside engineering plastics, glass and batteries. It is traded as whole units for reuse or dismantling, as sorted printed circuit board fractions destined for smelter feed, and as shredded and separated metal and plastic fractions. Buyers are integrated smelters and refiners recovering the metal content, specialist dismantlers, and reuse and refurbishment operations placing working equipment back into service.

Grades
Electronic scrap is bought against a described stream, a grade name from the trade specifications and an assay of the payable metals. Whole equipment and mixed lots are described by category, condition and yield expectation; board and component fractions are settled on an assay of gold, silver, palladium, copper and the deleterious elements. Every parameter names the method it is measured by, and the movement classification is settled in writing before the cargo commits.
